Capsule hotels in Tokyo

Last time I visited Tokyo I tried some capsule hotels. Well, I also tested some other EXTREMELY weird accommodation sauna style I could talk about other day (probably the weirdest accommodation I've ever been).

Capsules are an experience for 2 or 3 days. Clean as Japanese standards and usually good located. But they are not ok for a relaxing period of time since its just a honeycomb gap and people are not bees.

Someone could think it's claustrophobic or washing machine feeling but it's not the case. Maybe a small earthquake during the night.

 

Next one is not a proper capsule but a tiny room with walls, etc. See the organized space and cleaning. All so great but the strong air con everywhere all the time.

Just some pages written while I was in Japan recently.

As usual, traveling brings a huge quantity of information and ideas. They are impossible to process and document. One approach to solution is selecting and optimizing the information. Even so I need a lot of hours to keep my journal. It's not enough to write in the gaps (waiting for a meal or before sleep) but dedicate fresh and high quality time fo this precious and enjoyable task. For example a whole morning in a terrace. Accumulate delay everyday and eventually finish the travel pages at home is not a good way.

When writing is set a priority everything works.

About developed cultures

Japan is in the top 3 of my list of developed cultures. It's a very subjective list where criteria were selected after a lot of thinking. For example, focus on innovation and Science, an historic knowledge, background in thinking and arts, a certain level of order and cleaning, low impact of religions, etc. Let's appreciate this ramen as an example of dedication to detail. Even the colors have been chosen properly to create the whole work. And all like that.

Japan deserves same respect they practice.

The Handmaiden

What a discovery. I'm completely in love with this movie. 100% visual poetry and a pleasure for the senses. Each frame is and artwork.

I already know the South Korean director Park Chan-Wook from Oldboy, also an amazing movie. Genius.

The characters are such a perfecto models. And so obedient. I just click on PAUSE and they still as much as I need to drawing them.

I watched this movie 4 times in the last days. Well, te first one I missed the subtitles and I understood nothing about the also great story.

Había una vez un tiempo en el que se hacían cosas de calidad. Fabricada en Japón, en 1976, con un diseño ejemplar que, además de precioso, estaba hecho para durar. Eran otro tiempos, anteriores a la era del plástico y la obsolescencia programada.
Afortunadamente ahora nadie las quiere, porque no se anuncian ni dan dinero, y por tanto se pueden encontrar casi regaladas de precio. Quien lo diría, para una mítica cámara como ésta, con un excepcional objetivo de 1:1.4. Ayer me hice con una en Múnich, de una manera no poco peculiar, en una tienda de cámaras antiguas de segunda, tercera o más manos, y ahora está en las mías, literalmente.
Toda una inspiración, y además hace fotos.

I've just received this great item. Properly packed, taking care about details and nice presentation. Of course I'm talking about a product made in Japan. Mysterious box. Now I'm thinking on what I will set inside.
