What’s in my travel bag? Version 2023

These are all the items. Therefore I’m taking the photo naked.
Not very different from last years.
Full bag weights 8,2kg, 32 liters (bag alone 1kg) once some clothes are on.
Key here is the laptop: 16”, 2,3kg with charger.
Only possible in tropical places where no Winter clothes needed.
Still abundance of orange color, and that's good.

Thailand 2022

Here some photos from Thailand. I have the feeling the country is changing quite fast.
One day I should compile a group of pics showing the essence of this amazing culture and place. At least the perception I have of my dear Thailand.

Tiny watercolor box for travels

Many people asked me about the watercolors I use in my tiny box. I think it’s not so important and each one should try different colors and could have different needs. Mine are light weight, simple and certain tones.

Anyways here they are: raw sienna, burnt sienna, turquoise, red, Payne’s grey and indigo. Total weight is 32g. Sometimes I miss yellow. Indigo could be got mixing turquoise and Payne’s grey so maybe there is a free gap for a new color soon.

Traveling here and there

August 6th is something like my second birthday. It's the day I started my round the world trip, a collection of experiences which changed my mindset.

To celebrate it, I created a folder with photos from different trips during the years. Just a short sample! I will add more files from time to time.

It's easy to know the chronological order since the hair in my head is decreasing with time.

Here is the link:

And some photos in advance here to decorate this post:

Writing tools while traveling (updated)

These are my writing tools I'm carrying in my trips. I try to optimize volume and mainly weight. Simple is better. Even sometimes I have the feeling I'm using too many colors.

Notebook size is 9x14cm. The second case keeps some spares and tiny ink bottles. I included a pocket watercolor pad but it's an alien item and not a regular part of the kit.

Travel route is getting a very different shape

Latest trip.

Once upon a time my route used to be a line across a map. Recently it's more like a magnetic field around Bangkok. Thailand catches me and it's good.
Trip years ago.

Capsule hotels in Tokyo

Last time I visited Tokyo I tried some capsule hotels. Well, I also tested some other EXTREMELY weird accommodation sauna style I could talk about other day (probably the weirdest accommodation I've ever been).

Capsules are an experience for 2 or 3 days. Clean as Japanese standards and usually good located. But they are not ok for a relaxing period of time since its just a honeycomb gap and people are not bees.

Here some photos from different places.
Someone could think it's claustrophobic or washing machine feeling but it's not the case. Maybe a small earthquake during the night.

Next one is not a proper capsule but a tiny room with walls, etc. See the organized space and cleaning. All so great but the strong air con everywhere all the time.
